Who We Are
Restore Tugboat Island is a grassroots non-profit group formed by a committee of Port Neches Citizens giving time and every effort to rebuild the park for our children. Although Tugboat Island is going to be located on the city property, the city of Port Neches is not directly involved with the fund-raising for the rebuild project; we are a separate entity. We are committed to rebuilding an exciting new venue for childhood entertainment, exercise and education right here in southeast Texas, like we had for over 25 years with the old park.
What We Do
RESTORE TUGBOAT ISLAND, supported by the City of Port Neches and our goal is to rebuild the community-built playground at Port Neches Riverfront Park that promotes active play, stimulates imagination and is accessible to all children, regardless of ability. Community-built projects inspire everyone who participates with a sense of ownership, so much so that they become a focus of community life. People describe them as the experience of a lifetime. Families who helped build will return for picnics and bring out-of-town guests to show them what the community accomplished together.
